Car body repairs for Lingfield drivers

Lingfield is about 13 minutes and 6.4 miles from our Smallfield workshop, mostly along the B2037 and B2028. It is the longest of our village drives, and an easy one.

Ploughed field and autumn trees in the Surrey countryside

Lingfield is a Surrey village with a Grade I listed church, an old village lock-up called the Cage, and a racecourse just to the south. The station is on the Oxted line towards London. We are in Smallfield, about 13 minutes away and 6.4 miles by road.

Race days and a busy station

Anywhere with a station and a racecourse has days when the streets are full of parked cars. That is a normal reason for a ding: a door opened into yours, or a bumper nudged while someone reversed. People who park at the station all day often come back to a small dent or a scrape on a corner. We would rather you sent a photo than guessed. Many of these can be dealt with by our SMART repair service or a partial respray.

If the damage came from a collision, our accident repair page explains how we work, and the advice article on choosing your own repairer is worth a read before you phone your insurer.

How to get here from Lingfield

Leave the village on Station Road and pick up the B2028, which heads west. Follow it to the junction with the B2037, then turn onto the B2037 and stay on it all the way to Smallfield. It becomes Redehall Road, and we are at Unit 6, 100 Redehall Road.

The B2028 passes near Newchapel on the way. Most of the drive is quiet country road, so it is easy to drive but not very quick. Allow about 13 minutes, a bit longer if you meet a tractor.

Older cars and rust

A lot of older cars live round here, and rust follows older cars. Wheel arches and sills are where it usually starts. We cannot tell from a photo how deep it goes. If you see bubbling paint, send us a picture and we will say whether it looks like a surface problem or something that needs a closer look. Our rust repair page explains what we do.

Is it worth the drive from Lingfield?

That is your call, but for a first step you do not have to drive anywhere. Send photos on WhatsApp, with one wide shot and a few close-ups, and we reply. For smaller jobs we can quote from the pictures. Larger ones we will want to see in person, and we will say so. The quote is free, with no obligation.

If you do bring the car in, ring first so we can plan the time. Ask too about collection and delivery, which we can sometimes arrange in nearby areas.

For a bumper repair or a respray after a scrape, the process is the same from any village. You can also read about neighbouring Dormansland and Newchapel, which sit on the same road.
